Maaziah Mountain is excited to announce that we will be performing during the Fourth of July Celebration in Downtown Athens, TN at 3:30pm.
On what is typically a quiet day in Downtown Athens, plans are in place to hold a special Independence Day celebration.

Maaziah Mountain wants to reach out and say “Thanks” to the good folks at Sewee Church of God. They were a great, receptive audience for our ice-breaking performance after too many years! It was an honor to be a part of their 118th homecoming celebration! Thanks again and blessings to you all!

Well, since we are working on this recording around the rest of our lives – no, we haven’t quit our day jobs yet – it is still in progress! Each session adds a new and exciting dimension! It will be awesome to finally see it done . . .

Well, we officially have another song in the works!! Last weekend we had an awesome session in Jonan Sound Studio. Next weekend we will be back in the studio adding some more instruments to it. Looks like we will be releasing a new love song soon.

This Friday we will be drawing names from our facebook page for the new single CD, The Morning After You. This CD has both the short and long radio versions of the song. We will be drawing names for every 10 “likes” we have on our page.

This week “The Morning After You” has aired on the Bill Rainey Show out of Nashville. We are truly thankful to Mr. Rainey for playing the song. Just for the record, the song is sung by me, April Upton. The song was written by my husband, Jim Upton. A very talented Aaron Taylor is playing the acoustic guitar. Our daughter, Adriel, is singing most of those mean harmonies. Ron Clayton played our strings and the song was recorded, mixed and mastered here in Athens, TN by our own Brentley Womac at Jonan Sound Studios.

This afternoon found me trying to tune into the Bill Rainey Show on our internet – which has been being rather slow the last four days. Don’t you know about the time I got the station streaming, I caught the tail end of our song, “The Morning After You.” I wish I could have heard his introduction of the song, but I missed it. Anyway, we were excited to know he is indeed playing the song. Tune in this week if you can – http://www.nbrn.fm/ – Mr. Rainey’s show airs Monday, Wednesday, and Friday, 1pm to 3 pm ET or if you are a night owl 11 pm to 1 am ET. The last couple of weeks have been exciting for us! We had our first radio broadcast from our local 101.7 WJSQ/WLAR station here in Athens. Our song, “The Morning After You”, was featured on Bill Hughes show, Rising Stars. It was met with much support and Mr. Hughes reported that the song had more requests than any song they had ever played. We are working on trying to get this same song in the hands of a Nashville radio show soon . . . more on that as it becomes available
